Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka shankar is a British and American sitarist. She also performs music. She was among the youngest and the first woman to be awarded a British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first artist of Indian origin to play live on stage and also serve as a presenter at the ceremony. Anoushka is a rising star in Indian sitar. She is a student as well as daughter of the famous Ravi Shankar. Born in London She spent her first few years of her life traveling between London as well as New Delhi. When she was 13 she performed her first show at New Delhi. Then she moved into Encinitas CA, where she received the High School diploma with honors in 1999. Although she is still very young Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording. She often joins her father during performances, something she has been doing for quite a few years. The year 1998 saw her dropped Anourag as her first solo record. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. The stage work she has done is broad as she's appeared in all of the biggest venues in the world. Anoushka isn't just a musician. She also published Bapi, the love of my life in the year 2002. It is a biographical work that is a tribute to her father Ravi Shankar. In addition, she has appeared in films in 2003 she acted in the film Dance Like a Man where she is the role of a teenage Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka Shakar's profession is only going to continue to expand and develop. We are looking for exciting interesting things coming from her. Anoushka shankar is an English born musician who spent her early days split between London, Delhi and California. In Delhi during his birthday celebrations for his 75th birthday Anoushka first made an appearance as a sitar player before the crowd of four years following her nine-year-old father. As a part of her dad's band as they toured around the globe, Anoushka was able to accumulate a variety of performances in Carnegie Hall while still in her teens performing at Peter Gabriel's WOMAD festival, and also recording alongside George Harrison. In the end, The House of Commons Shield was awarded to her by the British Parliament in recognition of being the pre-eminent Asian Arts musician. She is the sole female and the youngest winner of the prize.
